Really Good Stuff
Quizlet allows you to build flashcards that can be studied on their site, embedded in other sites, studied on mobile devices, or printed out. Quizlet automatically creates embeddable games to play with your flash cards and it will read words and definitions. Translation is available as well. Another feature is that you can copy and modify flashcards that have already been created by other users.
Blendspace is a great tool for delivering content to students. Blendspace boards are arranged in three columns and can have many rows. Each cell can contain a Youtube video, website, document or image. Teachers also have the ability to assign quizzes from within the Blendspace board.
Study Blue is another option for digital flash cards. It allows students to quiz themselves and track their progress. Study Blue also has mobile device support.
ExamTime provides free accounts for students so they can create flashcards, mind maps, and practice quizzes to help them study. They can arrange their materials into topics and set study goals for themselves. There is a growing community of users and all materials can be shared. Mobile devices are supported.
Thinkbinder allows students to collaboratively study. They can participate in chats around topics, upload videos, and collaboratively work on solving problems together.
