Google Apps For Education
Google Apps for Education refers to suite of tools offered at no charge by Google that can be set up for use by the members of a school district. Districts technology departments are provided with management tools that allows them to customize the tools to work best within their environment. The core apps include Gmail, Calendar, Classroom, Contacts, Drive, Docs, Forms, Groups, Sheets, Sites, Slides, Talk/Hangouts and Vault. In the CSDA we do not use Gmail. It's turned on for staff, but only so document sharing generates an email through Outlook. The mail function itself does not function and shouldn't be used. The document to the right gives an overview of Google Apps and the cheat sheets below should help users learn the basic functions of some of the core apps.
